Auditory Verbal Training Apps and Websites

I have not tried all of these, but a few I have mentioned already in a previous post, I have been compiling these as I find them. (or have been told of them). If there are mistakes, let me know. Android as yet, has no apps that I have found. If you know of one, please post it here for me to add.

Note: always try the Lite versions of the apps, before you spend the money. However when they are under $4 bucks, and children in your home can benefit (I have a toddler), it can be worth the money. Play around with them, change the settings and practice yields results.

On the websites: Majority are for PC only and do not work on a Mac. So be aware of that, and read through before trying them. I still need to check out the websites, but I have been recording all the  info to do so.

There are so many out there, and they benefit those who also have speech problems, like Apraxia. All you have to do is try them and play around with them, and if they fit your needs or your child’s, then use them. Anything is better than nothing.  These  are also good for those with hearing aids, as well as implanted children and adults.

Please feel free to message me if you have one to add 🙂

  1. How about various audiobook set ups? Amazon/Audible has whisper-synch, which highlights the words as you read along, or you can just listen… real people record these books. I’ve been mostly choosing to listen to female readers to help with the high frequencies since women have been sounding like men up until a few days ago (4-1/2 months since activation). Cool Reader has text to speech support, but I have not tried it yet…

I also like listening to people talk on tv shows & movies. I still need captions…not everyone will.

  2. Hello,
I would like to introduce you to http://www.taletrove.com, a website with stories for children (audio, pdf, and flipbook formats), braille books, and reviews of some popular children’s books accompanied by learning tools and activity suggestions.
I also believe the website could serve as a platform for authors and illustrators to share stories and art, get feedback from readers, improvise, and create books and art readers love.

I request you to kindly add the site to your list if you find it suitable.

Thanks a bunch for your time and support.

    Best Regards.
    Lakshmi
